One of the things I like most about living in Taipei is that everything (or almost everything) is accessible by metro. It is very easy to go on a spontaneous weekend escape because some places wont really need tedious planning.
Last week, I learned that the Callalily Festival will be coming to an end. Callalily season usually falls on March to late April, so it was perfect timing. We took the MRT to Beitou Station, and from Beitou, we boarded shuttle number 9 which stops at the Callalily Farm (竹子湖). The view was magnificent. Calla lilies everywhere!
We picked flowers and enjoyed the scenery. The flowers were priced at NT$10 apiece (around Php 15). The farm owners will wrap them like a bouquet and you can ask for an extra plastic bag with water, just so the flowers can stay fresh for your commute. When we headed back to downtown Taipei, we saw a lot of people carrying bags of calla lilies. There is something with flowers, especially calla lilies, that make you smile even if you're feeling down in the dumps.
Wow! Ang mura ng flowers!! Also, I love your bag! ;)
