Realization Nuggets

I realized I have been wanting and asking so much, and too much. I am wishing my everyday to be simpler and easier, to be just the way I want it to be. But I guess I can't have everything I want. If life is made to be easy, then why do people have to work their ass off? Sacrifices are tantamount to doing bizarre things, those that are out of your comfort zones. And oftentimes, we do have to make our own little sacrifices, just to continue living and pursuing what we want.

The other day I got to interview 6 little kids from different public schools, all slated to finish grade school with flying colors. I did it for a segment in our noontime show. I was in awe of what they wanted in life- the simplest of all things. Finish school, land a good job, build a home, a family. They are earnest children with kind hearts that I almost forgot I was talking to 12 year-old kids. Their thoughts about what makes them happy and what makes them sad made me think less of myself. They are mature enough to understand what is going on with the world called life.

Yeah, I finally realized that oftentimes, I have to be a little kid again to think about the things that matter the most- the simplest of things that make you smile at the end of the day.
